March 5, 2013 Job 11 - 20 (NLT)

March 5, 2013: Read Job 11 - 20

Job is undergoing sufferings which were allowed by God. Three of Job's friends take turns harassing him regarding his suffering. They are trying to convince him that he deserved all the suffering that he was undergoing. Zophar, one of Job's friends speaks out in anger, lashing out at Job. He tells Job that God should render  even more punishment upon him. He claimed that Job was going through all his trials because of sin. Job continually claims his innocence, his blamelessness. This, however, did not apply to Job's current situation. God knows and sees everything we do. He knows our every thoughts and our every actions. Everything comes from God, every life and breath are in the hands of God.Wisdom and understanding can only be found in God. When we look for guidance for our decisions, we must recognize that God's wisdom is far superior to any the world has to offer.
Job's friends thought he was being justly punished for his sins. Job always claimed that he was sinless, his heart was pure. His friends were misguided and ignored the vast differences in human circumstances. We must be careful and compassionate in how we apply biblical judgments toward others, we must be slow to judge. It is not our place to judge, only God's place to judge others. No matter how unfair you present world seems, God offers the hope of our being in His presence for eternity.
Throughout all of Job's sufferings, he has continually maintained his innocence and has appealed his circumstances, his sufferings, directly to God.
Today, Jesus Christ intercedes on our behalf before God the Father above all. We can rest in Him and realize we have nothing to fear. Job knows that his redeemer lives, that he will see God. Do you know that you will one day see God?
